Frequently asked questions

What is GV Arcade?

An endless runner created for this space to turn a quick visit into a playable detour. It originally lived as a hidden Easter egg on my 404 page, and now has its own home for anyone looking to beat the record on desktop or mobile.

Who are Leia and Foster?

My dogs and daily studio companions. Leia is a Siberian husky (with one blue eye and one brown eye in real life too) and Foster is a golden retriever, both brought into pixel art with their actual personalities and tags.

How do scoring and mechanics work?

You start with 3 lives and the pace gets faster the further you run. Jump over hydrants, cats and crows (Space / ↑) and duck under birds (S / ↓ or the touch controls). Regular coins are worth +10, gold coins +50, and catching the ball earns a finish bonus on your way to the Top 10.

How does the Top 10 leaderboard work?

It’s a shared global ranking. To keep competition fair, the board holds one record per player: your highest score, with its distance and coin count. Beat your mark, add your name at the end of the run and claim your spot.

Why build a mini-game for a portfolio?

Because great digital products live in the details. Building a game from scratch tests the same principles I apply to complex web platforms: responsive states, smooth performance, intuitive feedback loops and user retention.
